Veglia Devero Natural Park

Description

The Veglia Devero Natural Park is one of the most beautiful and evocative landscapes in the Alps. Located between the Antigorio, Divedro and Formazza Valleys and easily accessible, it is rich in points of interest and well equipped for excursions in direct contact with nature.

The park is characterised by a typical high-mountain landscape, with forests of larch, Swiss stone pine and Norway spruce reaching above 2,000 metres in altitude. The extensive cattle-grazing pastures, the result of a thousand-year-old rural tradition, are a fundamental part of the landscape.

The entire area is rich in streams, rivers and numerous alpine lakes, as well as a varied range of wildlife.

The network of marked trails is extensive and includes routes suitable for less experienced hikers as well as trails for experienced mountaineers.

During the winter season, when snow covers the entire area for around seven months a year, visitors can also enjoy a well-equipped ski area at Alpe Devero and, above all, numerous ski-mountaineering routes.
